Libri Prohibiti: Collection of periodicals of Czech and Slovak Samizdat in the years 1948-1989

Documentary heritage submitted by Czech Republic and recommended for inclusion in the Memory of the World Register in 2013.

It is the largest collection in the world. The completeness and uniqueness of a large number of documents attest to the fight against the communist totalitarian regime and is importance for the study of the history of the twentieth century. It is also important from the standpoint of the history of professional journalism, science and ethics.

In connection with the relocation of the library and archives Libri prohibiti to new, larger premises in September 2009, we decided to organize small exhibitions and literary evenings. Trade shows are aimed at writers in exile from home then those who before 1990 could not exhibit, or his works have enriched the book, published in samizdat. Some are also thematic exhibitions, an exhibition devoted to Radio Free Europe, or exhibition dedicated to the exile newspaper publishers in Australia František Váňa.

For more information on all the shows, see Exhibitions in Czech language here:http://www.libpro.cz/cs/knihovna/vystavy
